From the App Store listing: 4.3★ all-time · 102K ratings (includes star-only ratings). Not part of the trend above.

Users say the v7.x redesign replaced the core random video-chat experience with swipe-based matching, and that bugs, call failures, bots, and sudden bans made the app worse. Many reviews explicitly ask to revert to the previous version.

What unhappy users want

  • Restore the old randomized video-chat flow (talk to random people without swipe-to-match) or offer it as an option
  • Fix accounts getting suspended or banned with no clear reason and no working appeal path
  • Stop match/call bots and fake accounts flooding the pool; skewed gender ratio and duplicate profiles

From the App Store listing: 4.5★ all-time · 11.8K ratings (includes star-only ratings). Not part of the trend above.

Reviews overwhelmingly cite broken search, frequent playback and AirPlay crashes, removed features (user search, offline Watch Later), login bugs and a clunky redesigned UX; a few cite billing and identity verification, but neglect dominates.

What unhappy users want

  • Search returns 'failed to load' or zero results for known titles and publishers
  • Search by user/creator removed on Apple TV app
  • Frequent crashes during playback after 10-20 minutes

Reviews mostly cite the product getting worse: a buggy VPN/MDM filter that breaks connectivity and won't uninstall, inaccurate blocking, and AI-only support. Billing complaints are a secondary factor.

What unhappy users want

  • VPN-based filter breaks general internet, local network, captive Wi-Fi portals (hotels, airplanes) and CarPlay streaming
  • Removal prevention/MDM cannot be cleanly uninstalled, forcing factory resets
  • Uninstall flow loops between 'Remove Canopy' and AI Ally screens

MRR figures are estimated ranges from chart rank, not reported revenue. How we estimate

How it works

From a falling rating to a product brief

  1. Step 1

    We watch the money

Fruitfall records where apps sit on Apple's top-grossing charts and keeps the ones whose rank suggests an estimated $20k+ MRR.

  2. Step 2

    We read the reviews

Written reviews are averaged in 90-day windows. When an app falls from its best window, the low-star reviews are sorted by why: a worse product, a price change, locked-in users, or an OS change.

  3. Step 3

    You pick one to build

Filter by genre, by reason, and by the data you'd have to buy. Open an app for the complaints behind the drop and an on-demand brief: must-haves, monthly running costs, and a starter prompt.

How "est. MRR" is made

Every revenue figure here is an estimate of gross monthly revenue on the US App Store (iPhone and iPad, before Apple's cut). We take an app's best US iPhone top-grossing rank in its category over the last 30 days and convert it with a per-category curve fit to Sensor Tower's public US estimates. It is not reported revenue.

Most calibration points are top-10 apps, so figures for ranks deep in a chart lean on the curve's shape more than on direct data. Read them as a scale, not a quote.

The headline number is the middle of an 80% range, shown next to it. Genres with few or no calibration points of their own get much wider ranges and a dotted underline. The default floor is $20k on that middle estimate. Use it to decide what's worth a look, then read the reviews.

Is every falling app an opening?
No. A falling rating is only sometimes a reason to build. Each classified app gets a reason: the product got worse, the price changed, the users can't leave, or the platform broke it. The ones worth building are the first kind, marked Product rot.
What's free?
The sample apps above, with their full breakdown. The rest of the catalog, the filters and the on-demand briefs are in the subscription.
Where do the ratings come from?
Apple's public App Store listings and reviews. The drop compares the average star rating of written reviews in an app's best 90-day window with the last 90 days. Store ratings include star-only taps from in-app prompts, which skew high, so we show them separately.
Do I need an account?
No passwords. You sign in with Apple or X. Your subscription then works on any browser or device.
How do I cancel?
Any time, from Manage subscription in the header once you're subscribed, or from the Stripe billing portal.
